About Us
Parents,
Are you searching for a private school where Christian values and learning are the highest priorities in the educational system?
Private schools abound, but consider this Seventh-day Adventist school as new Christian family for your child.

School Mission Statement
The Eastwood Junior Academy family exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think,
and empower them to serve.

Our Philosophy
The Eastwood Junior Academy is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for
children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We
respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the
spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of
service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:

  •    develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
  •    master the basic academic skills
  •    value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
  •    cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

The Eastwood Junior Academy operated in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American
Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

What Parents and Students have to Say about EJA

An Amazing School!
This school is amazing. The building itself is brand new so the appearance is beautiful, however, it is the teachers and staff that
make it exceptional. I actually attended Eastwood Jr. Academy from 1st - 8th grade. I loved my teachers and the one on one
attention they gave to me. Sometimes you are asked if there was a special teacher you can remember who helped mold you into
the person you are today. For me, I look back at all of my school years, and the teachers who stand out, are my teachers from
Eastwood Jr. Academy. I currently have one child enrolled and next school year two of my children will be attending Eastwood. It
is an immeasurable blessing that they too will be blessed by having some of the same teachers I had. If anyone asked me why I
send my children to Eastwood, it is not just one reason. I love the staff, the other children who attend the school, and the
atmosphere. And the MOST important reason for sending my children to Eastwood Jr. Academy is for them to build their
relationship with the Lord. ~Becky Cuellar 4/10/2008

A Wonderful School
Eastwood is a wonderful school. It teaches you a lot. It was fun playing with the teachers and my friends. It was me and my
brother and sister's first year and it was a lot of fun at Eastwood. ~Joseph 5/31/2008

It's Great!
Eastwood is a great school! It teaches us lots of things in different subjects. It also teaches us about God and what He wants us
to do. Go Eastwood!!!!!!!!!! May God be with you! ~Josephine 6/3/2008

God's Inside
All people who read this: In this school looks can be deceiving. Everybody is full of love, and joy. Most importantly, God is inside
of here every day. As the school year passes by, you, and I will learn more and more each day. It is a great opportunity for you
or your children. I thank my family for putting me in this school. I love it. You will too. ~Matthew 7/3/2008

The History of Eastwood Jr. Academy

In 1900 the congregation of Eastwood SDA Church purchased a church building on South Ohio Avenue. The church was two
blocks south of Broad Street.

In 1902 they started a church school in the basement of the church. We do not know the name of the teacher at that time. In
1906 the teacher was Mrs. Vada Welch.

By 1910 the school had outgrown the basement of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Seibert donated ground to the church on the corner
of Union and Ryan. The school was constructed on this sight. In 1950 an addition was built onto the school and the school
remained at that location until the Spring of 1961.

Land was purchased further East of downtown and a school was built on 270 Napoleon Ave. The church and school moved into
the new facility in the fall of 1961. Worship services were held in the school until construction of the new church was completed.

On August 5th, 2005, property was purchased at 6400 S. Sunbury Rd., Westerville, Ohio. Transformation of the house was
started immediately and the first worship wervice was held at the new location on December 3rd, 2005.

Work began in early spring of 2006 on construction of the new school. Three days of school were held in the church the next
year. August 28th, 2006, we had our first day of school in the newly constructed building at 6350 S. Sunbury Rd.
