REMEMBERING JACK YORK

This page is a tribute to our departed friend and
shipmate Jack York.  Though Jack never served on
our Reunion Committee, for a number of years when
he was still able to attend, he acted as the Bushnell
Reunion Chaplain.  Jack had a very strong faith in
Jesus Christ and was always ready and willing to
share his faith.  During the years that Jack spent on
the USS Bushnell serving his country, he was known
as the "Bear".  But deep down, Jack was a real
pussycat.  Jack became an avid carver and used to
bring his carvings to the reunions to be raffled off.  If
you won one in a raffle you know how good they
were.   Later in life he became "Santa Jack" and
loved being Santa to young and old alike.

Galatians 5:22-25 says,  "But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control".

Jack York believed and practiced the Fruits of the
Spirit.  Jack will be missed by all who knew and loved
him.
